Operation Teacup  
Pupils from the Academy hosted a special event called ‘Operation Teacup’ for local residents. During the event, guests were served tea, coffee or juice, and enjoyed home baked cakes and cookies.  They were also entertained with music, Bingo and performances from the Academy’s pupil choir and dance performers.    
Extra Curricular Timetable
Our extra curricular timetable for Summer 2013 is now available.
The Academy has implemented a new system for reporting progress, attainment, behaviour and attendance - Go 4 Schools. This is to help further enhance our communication with parents and carers.

Top Form
Congratulations to 9BA who were crowned ‘Top Form’ for the spring term 2. They achieved the most points for uniform, equipment and punctuality during spot checks and enjoyed a free breakfast in Food for Thought. The competition is on for the summer term!

  • School Uniform

    ​From the15th April uniform will be purchased directly from our uniform suppliers Sportswear International. Purchases can be made by phone or via the on-line ordering system. Items will be delivered directly to your door.

  • Whitburn Challenge

    ​Year 7 Homework for the Summer Term 2013 will be about Discovery, Development and Delivery.  Pupils have been briefed in a special assembly on Friday 15th March about what The Whitburn Challenge is and how they will complete it. 

    Year 7 Form Tutors will be monitoring its successful completion.  In the last week of term there will be a special award for those who have excelled in the year group.

  • Admission Appeal Hearing Dates for Year 7 - Intake September 2013

    Education Appeals Timetable 2013/14
     
    In accordance with the School Admission Appeals Code, the timetable for organising and hearing education appeals is set out below. The following timetable will apply to appeals for admission to the Academy in the academic year 2013/14.
     
    National Offer Day – the day letters are sent out informing parents of which school they have been offered a place.
     
     
    Friday 1st March 2013
    Deadline for Parent/Carer to request an appeal form.
    Friday 15th March 2013
    Appeal forms sent out where requested.
     
    Deadline for Appeal forms to be returned to the Academy.
     
    Monday 25th March 2013
     
    Friday 19th April 2013
    Appeals will be heard between:
    Monday 24th June and Friday 28th June 2013
     
    Appellants (the person(s) lodging an appeal) will receive a letter notifying them of the date, time and venue of the appeals panel appointed to hear their appeal at least 10 school days before the hearing.
     
    Information relating to the Appeals process will be sent to the Appeallant on Monday 25th March 2013.
