Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is funding allocated to schools to enable them to provide additional support for their disadvantaged pupils. Nationally, statistics show that students who are in receipt of the Pupil Premium do less well than their peers in external exams. The aim of the grant is to help close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.

Whitburn Church of England Academy generally has fewer students who are in this category when compared with all schools nationally; our rate is usually between 12-16% of all students. That said, we view the needs of all students as important and strive to create the best opportunities and experience for all.
