Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium Grant

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is funding allocated to schools to enable them to provide additional support for their disadvantaged pupils. The aim of the grant is to help close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.

Year 7 literacy and numeracy catch-up premium – 2018/19 cohort

Again we are expecting additional funding of £9404 allocated to our school for the weakest pupils in our Year 7 cohort who did not reach the expected stage in reading and/or mathematics at Key Stage 2.

This funding will support the following intervention strategies:

a. Additional in class support focusing on numeracy needs

b. Range of precisely focused interventions through the catch-up numeracy programme

c. E-learning Maths programmes

Literacy intervention strategies

a. Accelerated Reader scheme used to track and monitor students’ reading ages

b. Additional literacy lessons focusing on key skills

c. Additional in-class support focusing on literacy needs

n.b. Impact of the above strategies upon pupil progress will be reported to the school governors throughout the year
