Get into Teaching with Whitburn ITT
Whitburn Church of England Academy is the Lead School in the Whitburn ITT partnership, providing Secondary Initial Teacher Training for South Tyneside and North Sunderland. Since 2024 we have partnered with Sunderland University to provide the only school led Secondary teacher training route in the local area.
We offer outstanding training and development opportunities with our partner schools and have an excellent record of progressing ITT students into their first teaching posts. We are hugely excited about developing the next generation of the North East’s teachers.
For 2025/2026 we offer training in the following subject areas:
Maths, English, Chemistry, Biology, RE, PE, Business, Geography, History, Art, MFL, Music, Computing
