By choosing to train to with Prince Bishops Teaching School Alliance you will learn first hand from outstanding teachers and be immersed in school life from the outset.

It is a unique partnership between primary and secondary schools, working with young people aged 11-19.

There are 12 schools, 9 primary and 3 secondary, who work in partnership across the Durham and Newcastle Diocese.

Whitburn Church of England Academy is the lead school for Secondary Initial Teacher Training in the Prince Bishops Teaching School Alliance (PBTSA). Together with our strategic partners; we provide a unique school based learning opportunity in partnership with Durham SCITT, who were rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2014.
