The Music Department held its first Christmas Swing – A – Long and everyone agreed it was a resounding success.
The Big Band hosted the evening playing many Christmas favourites including ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ through to ‘Frosty the Snowman’; finishing with a ‘Blues Brothers Medley’ to which many of the audience joined us on the dance floor. Our talented dancers from Miss Johnson’s Dance Club performed a wide range of styles including modern and tap as well as a group performance to ‘Salute’ by Little Mix.
The choir directed by Miss Cresswell performed ‘Believe’ from The Polar Express and the Chamber Choir performed a close harmony acapella version of ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’.
The PTA support was fantastic providing refreshments and organising the raffle; we raised well over £700 in total!
The audience gave numerous standing ovations and we received many comments on the evening being “the best concert” they had seen at Whitburn, which reflects the excellent standard achieved by the pupils. Thank you to all who continue to support our talented pupils.
