Congratulations Sadie Stoner on winning a Gold medal in Shotokan Karate Posted on: 14 May 2015

We are pleased to announce that Sadie Stoner in Year 8 who is the current English National Champion in the individual kata for her age group has won the Gold Medal in Shotokan Karate at the world championships in Kosovo.

Sadie competes nationally and internationally, training at least 12 hours per week and travelling the country to learn techniques from international senior athletes.  She is dedicated to her sport and her attitude and honour shine in her martial arts.  This summer she has been selected for the England squad to represent her country abroad in the under 15 category.

Sadie’s sister Holly also competes and they sometimes have a fierce (but friendly) rivalry about who is the best!

We are always pleased to celebrate pupil achievements at Whitburn although some pupils can be quite modest about sharing their successes with us.  Should any Parent/Carer have any stories of success or celebration that they wish to share with us please contact Mrs Batey, Principal’s PA at the Academy.
