Whitburn Church of England Academy students are celebrating their best ever set of externally examined A level and GCSE results. A remarkable achievement under any circumstances but especially considering 
the disruption to learning due to the Covid 19 pandemic!
A Level
The average grade has increased from C+ to B-
A/A* grades are up 4.3% on 2019
A to C grades are up over 10% on 2019!
GCSE
Student progress was exceptional; over a third of all grades awarded were grade 7 or above, and 6.6% of all grades awarded were grade 9!
81.4% of all students achieved grade 9 – 4 in English and maths, with 79.4% of all students achieving at least 5 GCSE passes including English and maths
