Parkrun Event Posted on: 22 Sep 2017

One of our Year 10 pupils, Jamie Barnshaw, spends a lot of time undertaking voluntary work for the South Shields Parkrun, a free 5km run for people of all ages and abilities.

On Saturday 23rd September the Parkrun in South Shields will be dedicated to the memory of Mark Wood who sadly died last weekend. As Mark was a South Shields Harrier and  a regular at the Parkrun, friends and family have been invited to join the weekly run to pay tribute. Those taking part are being asked to wear black and white as he was a huge Newcastle United fan.

The Parkrun team would be delighted if as many people as possible could join them in celebrating Mark’s life.

To take part in the run, meet at the Sand Dancer Pub on South Shields seafront for a 9am start.  More information about Parkrun can be found here http://www.parkrun.org.uk/southshields/
