School Closure Work – update Posted on: 27 Mar 2020

Well done to all our students who have been working hard to complete the work set by their teachers last week, and a huge thanks to parents and carers who have supported their children in doing so. Please can you ensure that all the work is completed to the best of your ability by the end of next week.

From Thursday 2nd April the majority of work given to students to complete will be via Microsoft Teams. Many students are already using Teams to access work, interact with teachers and hand in work for assessment. Our ICT team and teaching staff are busy creating class teams and ensuring the system is ready to use by the great majority of students.

Students can access Teams via Office 365, which itself can be accessed via the school website under the ‘pupils’ tab. Students use their normal school log in details to access Office 365. There is also a guide to using Office 365 under the ‘pupils’ tab. Students will get a notification when they have been added to a team and when work has been set for them.

Teams can also be downloaded as an app: https://teams.microsoft.com/downloads

Teams gives students the capability to get support from teachers through the chat function. Teachers will be able to set work (called ‘assignments’) for completion with deadlines as well as mark and feedback on students’ work.

We will continue to use the year group tabs to give parents / carers and students an outline of the work that needs to be completed during this period of enforced closure.

Many thanks for your continued support.
