Year 12 students have been showing their entrepreneurial skills Posted on: 26 Apr 2016

Year 12 students have been showing their entrepreneurial skills, by taking part in the Young Enterprise Company Programme.  Sophie Jacobson, Nathan Lynch, Beth Nicholson, Isaac Pallas, Shaun Baxter and Andrew Wallace set up the company, ThinkSeasonal, selling a range of craft products.  They have been supported throughout the process by their teacher Miss Thirlwell and Business Advisors, Stuart Miller (NECC) & Sarah Pavlou (Kyclo). ThinkSeasonal have attended many trade fayres, including ones at the Metro Centre and Sunderland Minster.  The students competed at the South Area Final at Beamish Hall and were awarded Best Company Report; this documented the highs and lows of the business, along with their finances for the year.

“The students have worked exceptionally well as a team, and we are all so proud of their achievements. The skills they have developed will continue to benefit them as they progress their career choices.  I would like to congratulate the students and thank their Business Advisors, Stuart and Sarah, for their ongoing support.(Miss Thirlwell, Teacher of Business Studies)
